Acorn leaped from rock to rock easily. His paws placed perfectly on each boulder and foothold. His strong legs pushed strongly off all the rocks. He leaped to the top of the cliff. He ran on it. The cliff seemed as familiar to him as his own paws. He leaped on top of a boulder that seemed to overlook the whole world. He tipped back his head and howled. Joy shot through him. It felt good.

Rocky stalked through the forest, following Acorn. Where ever he is going, I will too! Rocky thought. Now he was old enough to leave the nursery, he spent all the time he could outside of it. And what a wonderful day to bug acorn! Rocky thought, grinning. Acorn was fun to bug, because he got annoyed easily. This is what Rocky looks for...... Poor Acorn!

(Poor Acorn!) Acorn looked out. There was a cool breeze sweeping across the cliff. You couldn't find the breeze any where else. It ruffled his fur and scent a blast of cool air. Out of the corner of his eye Acorn spotted Rocky. What is he doing? He thought.

Rocky stood still as a rock when Acorn's mood changed. He could sense it, like all pup. They can sense a change of mood, and that is exactly what happened. Rocky slowly crouched down, until he was able to curl up and look like a rock. And no wolf would trip over him. He had curled so tightly that even if a wolf tripped over him, he would not unfold. He would just seem like a rock they did not see... If they didn't see him.

Acorn watched Rocky curl into ball. It was like Rocky didn't realize that he had seen him. Acorn leaped off the boulder he was on and ran along the cliff. The sun beat down on him but it didn't bother him. Acorn stopped infront of Rocky and sat down and just looked at him. He rapped his tail around his paws and let his amber eyes rest on Rocky. Acorn wondered how long Rocky would stay curled up.

Rocky breathed lightly, sometimes not breathing at all. I must be a rock! I must be a rock! Rocky thought, encouraging himself. He told himself that he would stay curled up forever if needed! Rocky could hear Acorn when he ran towards Rocky. Rocky just stayed as he was, exactly like a big rock.

Acorn saw that Rocky was being stubborn. He let his gaze bore into Rocky. It must be uncomfortable. Acorn had a second to admire Rocky's patience. Acorn had NO patience at all. He poked Rocky to see if he would do anything.

Rocky was uncomfortable. Acorn's gaze was penetrating deep down, and Rocky was forcing himself to not run back to the nursery. When Acorn poked him, Rocky just stayed the way he was, and didn't let his skin go down, because when Acorn's paw touched him, he pushed out as Acorn pushed in. That way it stayed balanced, and he was more a rock!

Acorn rolled his eyes slightly amused by the pups stubbornness. "Rocky, Rocks don't have fur." He barked. To prove his point he ran his paw along Rocky so that his fur stuck up.

Rocky growled his frustration, and uncurled himself. He was about one third of Acorn's size. "How did you know??" Rocky asked, angry at himself for not finding a way to make his fur look smooth.

Acorn rolled his eyes like that was the simpliest question ever. "I watched you curl up." He said.

Rocky frowned. He never knew Acorn saw him! "So!?" Rocky barked stubbornly. He didn't want to lose this argument! And he never would. He would make sure of that!
"Even if you did, I did good right! Of course I did, you don't need to answer! I know I did, because I am that awesome! I am awesomer than you!" Rocky barked. He turned around and pointed his nose up. Rocky barely opened his eye a slit, so that he could see Acorn. But Acorn couldn't see that he was watching. Rocky knew he couldn't, because no other wolf had. Or has. So Rocky sat there.

Acorn rolled his eyes. What an anoying pup. Acorn stood up and just walked away not really caring if it was rude or not. He bounded up a few rocks but kept Rocky in the corner of his eye.

Rocky turned around triumphantly. "So you admit to my awesomeness! And how I am right! Dang, you give up quickly!!" Rocky barked, and ran to Acorn. He tickled his chest to see what would happen.

Acorn rolled his eyes. "I didn't say that!" He growled. He had been trying to avoid a fight but looks like that wouldn't happen. "Your not awesome because one: Your only a pup so you haven't proved anything! 2: Your anoying and awesome wolves don't anoy others. And 3: We all know there are tons more awsomer wolves then you encluding me!" He growled not about to let the ignorent pup get away with that.
