Chapter. 2
Glitch
I shrugged and watched Lark climb a tree. I followed her up and sat on a branch above her. Using my feet as a prompt I slowly hanged upside down. “Boo” I whispered. Lark jumped then laughed. “Wow Glitch you scared me” She joked. I slid off the higher branch and sat next to Lark. She pointed to the sky at a cloud. “That looks like a monkey” She said. I looked at the direction she was pointing to and smiled. “Yeah it does” I breathed. “And that one looks like a hippo with a tutu” I added. Lark laughed softly. I thought to myself for a second. “Lark have you ever chased pigs before?” I asked. Lark looked at me in shock. “Pigs!” She exclaimed. I nodded. “Yep pigs” I leapt out of the tree. Landing on the ground I looked back up at Lark. “Are you coming?” I called. Lark nodded her head hesitantly then slid off. I pushed my hair back and smiled brighter. She smiled back at me then walked a little ways ahead. “Uh… Glitch, where exactly will we find a pig pen?” Lark asked. I walked ahead then parted some plants. “Here” I said nodding towards a large pen. Lark rolled her shoulders uneasily. “Are you sure about this?” She mumbled. “I’m positive” I replied back. Lark gulped then stepped through the parted leaves; I followed close behind. God pigs are annoying. They just won’t shut up. I climbed the large fence and landed in the soft mud. Holding out my hand I helped Lark climb over. The squeals irritated me, reminded me of well. I turned around and waited for a pig to cross my path. Seeing a nice plump one I winked at Lark then dove for it. The pig squealed then ran quickly out of my grasp sending me face plant into the mud. Lark and I exploded into laughter. I looked up and wiped the mud out of my glasses. Lark bended down and waited. She then lunged for a pig and grabbed it by its tail. I started rooting for her as slid across the slick dirt. Lark was laughing so hard her hands slipped from the pig’s tail. She landed softly in the mud. I helped Lark up; she nodded gratefully. We literally looked like swamp monsters. Our hair was caked with mud and our clothing drenched in it to. Just one look at me made Lark giggle. “Come on lets get out of here” Lark said. I nodded and started climbing over the fence; Lark followed close behind. “Well we need to get a bath” I said examining myself. Lark smiled and nodded. “I know a place not to far from here” She said shyly. I bowed playfully “Ladies first” I said giving Lark a wink. She giggled then walked casually forward. I followed Lark to a shallow lake. “It’s an abounded camp site, no one uses it anymore” Lark said. I smiled “Then what are we waiting for?” I jumped into the lake. Cool water enveloped me, I felt well free. I pushed my legs and arms up and gasped for breath. My head popped up from the waters surface, and I steadily looked around. “Lark” I called. I couldn’t see the shadow of her body in the lake. My heart beat franticly against my chest. “Lark” I called again. “Boo” arms wrapped against my chest and I was pulled under. I slowly turned my head around to see Larks smiling face. We quickly burst into the surface. “Lark” I yelled happily; I quickly hugged her. She started laughing. “Wow Glitch” She said between giggles. I smiled and started stroking her hair. She gently touched my hand. We stood there chest deep in water, just staring at each other. I moved closer to her face. “What are you doing Glitch?” She whispered. “I don’t know” I whispered back. Before our faces could meet there was a splash of water. We both turned to see three little girls. They stared at us eyes wide. One had a digital water proof camera.

(OK well I havent been feeling good so this is what I have writen)
I smiled and waved to them. They all screamed then dove under water. I quickly followed them. Suddenly I lost my breath and gasped for air. Water filled my mouth. I quickly shut it and tried to swim upwards. My head pounded and green flashes of light pierced through the water. Somebody was on my laptop. I kicked harder then stopped. A chilling familiar laugh enveloped my mind. I bit my lip then tried again breaking through the surface of the water. I took in deep breaths, grateful for the air. Lark came rushing towards me. “Glitch” she called. I waved my hands. Her eyes were big and worried. “Glitch you’ve been gone for thirty minutes” She whispered.
Chapter, 3
A man was sitting in front of a blinking computer screen. He took a drag then peered through the heavy smoke. “Has he been scanned” a women’s voice rasped beside him. The man frowned. “Five more days, be patient” He said. The woman rolled her eyes. “We don’t have five more days cant you see he’s going to become dangerous, a threat to us” She exclaimed throwing a cigarette away. “Shut up” The man yelled banging on the desk. The woman eyed him. “He has a connection, once we break the connection we can start” She said coldly. “I’m not stupid I know” The man grumbled. He got up and threw a pistol in the woman’s lap. “Do not shot until I say so” He said. The woman nodded. “I’m dying, this will be good” She said heading out the door. Once the woman was gone the man turned back to the screen. He picked up a gun and reloaded it. “Here I come, old pal” He laughed. ………………………………………………………………………
I was more shocked then tired. “Thirty minutes” I kept repeating. Lark would only nod numbly. We were on shore, letting our clothes bake in the hot sun. “I was so worried, I thought you…”Lark cut short and looked away. Her head was pressed against my shoulder, never letting me go. I was tempted to tell her what happened, but decided not to. “Its OK Lark I won’t to that again” I confirmed. Lark nodded. We got up and started heading back to the village. We didn’t talk, and for once I had nothing to say. “So uh you like turkey?” I managed to say. Lark smiled “Yes I like turkey” She replied. “What about bacon?” I said next smiling. “I like bacon” She said. “So, what about turkey bacon” I laughed. Lark laughed, “I don’t know” She said. I rolled my shoulders then looked back up. The sun was setting, creating a tinge in the sky. Lark followed my gaze. “It’s really pretty” she mumbled. The village was getting closer. I smiled “Sure is”. I walked Lark home. “Thank you Glitch…see you tomorrow” She said. “At school” I replied. Lark nodded briskly then stepped into her house, closing the door behind her. I turned around and started walking towards my house. It was farther from the others, looked a lot more run down. I quickened my pace.
